I use the visual language to create

what I feel are beautiful

images & artworks,

whether painting or photography.

Sometimes a coalescent of them both.

The below images are a development of ideas from above photo.

The art of photography,

or a work of art via photography

or photography manipulated to create art,

or …………… just art.

I don’t believe paintings are flat two dimensional pieces of artwork, they connect to the wall and space around them, they can also be free standing. I create the majority of my canvases to include elevation change on the canvas, doing this inline with the design is critical, whilst considering how the sides of the canvas relate to the aesthetic of the overall piece and their interaction with the surrounding environment.

Some examples of where I review how a canvas can relate to its surroundings and/or design.

I like to take a photo and then reimagine it, create a new world, something contrasting, or shocking, mainly I try to create an emotion or feeling, give a spark to the viewers mind, awaken their perception.

I grew up playing in a woods, I love being under & in trees, i find how they organically grow and develop stunning, so they naturally become interesting to me & part of my creativity.

  • The 'Red Tree'

Walking through Thetford Forest and I see a lonely small Oak tree with some brown leaves waiting to fall, it stood out and called to me, i then edited the brown leaves to red. I love this composition and effect.
